Many bindis are round-shaped or oval-shaped. But there are bindis now that come in different other shapes, like triangle and diamond. They may be small or large. Traditionally, the bindi is colored red or maroon.
Recently, bindis are crafted with sticker-like back, so they have become easier to put on and manage. A particularly good thing about this type of bindi is that you can easily remove the bindi and stick it on again if you do not get it the first time.
When applying bindi, you will be needing a pair of sharp tweezers, your able fingers, and a little practice. But, really, there can be no right or wrong way of applying bindi. Wise men may think of a variety of methods to do it correctly, but they will all boil down to the method you, yourself, are comfortable with.
Zinc oxide is one of the ingredients used in making bindi, so make sure that your skin is not allergic to zinc oxide; else you will put yourself at risk for any untoward reactions to the chemical. Next, before applying bindi, make sure also to wash your face clean first. You must not have any makeup on. With the aid of a mirror, a pair of tweezers and your fingers, carefully and cautiously apply the bindi at the center of your forehead.
